"Way to block traffic you stupid, silly F%$*!" - From a passenger leaning out the window to let me know what he thought of my riding as close to the curb as I could
nice. don't you love the intelligence of some people? i hope you came up with a creative response. i actually typed a couple of mine here, but then decided to delete them in an effort to keep your site from being banned by "netnanny"!
I really try to ignore these kind of people, but every once in a while I will let loose and really give them a piece of my mind...probably not the smartest thing to do. After all, my vehicle only ways 200 pounds (with me included) and theirs weighs close to a ton!!!
Cyclist and runners are always victims of drive by insults. A group of kids in beater drove past on a run by swervig into the bike lane I was in and screaming something out the window. It made me jump but I just said, "God Bless You".
I used to get really upset with people who did this or cut infront of me on the freeway, but its not worth it (99% of the time)so its hard to be made with someone if your saying, "God Bless You."
Anyway, I caught up with the car at a light, they pulled into a drive thru, they were just a bunch of punks, they saw me and one of them spit out the window into my path almost hitting me.
I snapped, Ibroke off his windshield wiper and started beating the quickly rolling up window and kicking in the door frame, while inviting them to step out and take their beating like a man. I created quite a stir and a lot of damage to the door.
They had to take the abuse for about a minute before the light changed and they could speed off, but they never got out. I was quite exhausted at that point and started walking away. Well Apparantly they had harrassed an overweight mother and daughter in the parking lot before I showed up, making them cry. They and some others who witnessed my attack thanked me.
While I don't resort to physical attacks on every drive by, if threatened I will posture dominance. But like I said a good God Bless makes me feel better.
This is one of the many reasons I often chose to stick to the many bike trails when riding or running. Some people just don't get it. We have the same rights to be out there as them.
I found it kinda funny one day when a guy in a truck yelled at me "get off the road, cow". I looked at him and yelled as he drove off "Get out of your truck and run, jerk". But I really doubt he heard me. What I think is funny is the lazy one calling the one running names. Oh well, such is life.
nice.

Yeah, I might be tempted to put a foot into their door too - but around here that kind of thing is liable to get a person shot!!!
