Assault on Mt Herman!

No it's not the newest sequel in the Assault on Precinct 13 series... it's today's training ride. Mt Herman is the main mountain up in Monument where my office is. At the top is an old Works Progress Administration road called Rampart Range that follows the front range mountains down to Garden of the Gods for around 60 miles before descending into Garden of the Gods.

Colorado Guy Steve Garufi has a nice little piece about one piece of the ride here. I think though that the most telling picture is this picture that Steve took from the top of Mt Herman. You can see where you start down at the bottom of the mountain. (click for a bigger version)

I'll have my own pictures later today. I'm bringing my backpack mostly because it's a long ride with NOWHERE to turn off so you need to bring what you can in case of emergency, plus the weather at 9000+ ft is guaranteed not to be as nice as it is at -6000 ft which is where Colorado Springs is. (well, the side that we're on is closer to 6500)

Site Changes

I'm in the process of redesigning the site, but that's still a little ways off. In the meantime, I threw an e-mail link up in the sidebar, along with Ang and my DVD catalog. If there's anything I am on top of a tri-geek, it's a movie geek. So browse through our collection if you'd like.

More blogging in a little while, including pics from last weekend.

(the last) Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes...

After sleeping on it for the evening and having a friend ring me out about how the logo still doesn't flow I made one last set of changes.

No more changes! I swear!

the fix is in!

for your review... versions 2a and 2b

Once again, sorry for the pictographic theft Mr. Wil.

without furthur adieu...

I present to you the Tri-Geek Dreams logo submission from your humble blogger.

As I was working on the project, I tried to boil down the essence of what a "Tri Geek" is. While thinking about it, I kept coming back to the classic image of a geek's taped up glasses. After doing some research into different sports glasses and some sketches this is what the logo evolved into.

Ultimately it will be up to the Kahuna and the rest of the Tri-Geek Dreams readers to decide what logo wins out, but I think that I have a contender on my hands.
